(Solved): Type reflection on the assigned reading. Students may choose which five assigned readings they wish ...

Type reflection on the assigned reading. Students may choose which five assigned readings they wish to write their thought pieces on. Hand these in over LMS/Moodle, as Thought Piece #1-#5. These are a chance to explore critical questions about the text, to relate the ideas in the text to contemporary experience, and to propose possible theses, so as to prepare for the essay and exams. Do not merely provide an overview of all the author wrote. Instead, try to pose an interesting question about the text (research question) and then explore a possible answer to the question (thesis). The instructor will sometimes provide a suggested reflection question, but students are free to write about what they find most interesting in the text. Students may choose to develop an answer to one of the assigned study/reading questions as their thought piece. This is great preparation for the exams. These pieces are marked out of 3 points for completeness and effort. Be sure to cite any direct quotes, in footnote or author-date style. No external (secondary) source is required for these, only the primary text. If you choose to write a thought piece on a given book or chapter of a major author (example, Book 2 of Plato’s Republic), hand this in before the live session lecture on that reading. These thought pieces should be your exploration of a text before the interpretive professor lecture, and not a reproduction of the prof’s lecture.
